You will receive a separate I.D. card for these benefits. It is important that you present this I.D. card at the retail pharmacy when getting your prescriptions filled. If you take medications on a regular basis, the mail-order benefit could save you a significant amount of money. Under this program, you can typically receive up to 90-days of medication each time your prescription is filled.
The prescription drug program has an annual deductible of $50 per individual. After the individual meets the deductible the plan offers a copay for generic drugs and coinsurance for brand name drugs. At the retail pharmacy, you can get up-to a 34-day supply of medications with each refill. After you have your prescription filled 3-times, the amount you are responsible for increases. Therefore, if you have a prescription that you need to have filled more than three times, you may want to consider using the mail order drug option.
